Planting of course is complete at this stage of the 2016 crop growing season. Canada’s Identity Preserved (I.P.) Food Grade Soybean crop is progressing very well.
There has been some dry weather to start off the season in both Ontario and Quebec however we’ve generally benefitted from timely showers, allowing for adequate moisture giving good plant soil emergence. Most fields appear at this early stage with a fairly even plant stand and little weed pressure. No concerns at this time.
Soybean plants are in the range of unifoliate to first trifoliate stage, with most fields in the later. See pictures taken today below.
